Early today in the Santa Fé quarter, operatives from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) arrested Víctor Manuel Félix Beltrán , aka “El Vic,” identified as one of the financial officers working for Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
According to the authorities, Félix Beltrán was acting as the successor of his father, Víctor Manuel Félix Féliz, Sr., arrested on March 11, 2011 – at the time the CFO of the Sinaloa Cartel . Víctor Félix Sr. is currently serving time at the Federal Center of Social Rehabilitation No. 1.
“El Vic” was in charge of the financial operations and money laundering of the drug trade with the United States.
Félix Beltrán was also in charge of heroin trafficking operations in the United States, as he allegedly kept links with the criminal organizations in charge of the production and distribution of this product in the states of Guerrero and Jalisco .
Félix Beltrán, 30, operated under the identity of Francisco Esparza to acquire properties, vehicles, and businesses; likewise, he had several properties under the names of frontmen.
His area of operations was Culiacán in Sinaloa, Zapopan in Jalisco, and Mexico City.
