Mexican authorities found 12 bodies inside a stolen truck in Michoacán

The bodies of 12 men who were shot dead were found inside a pickup truck in the Huetamo-Ciudad Altamirano road in Michocán .

The bodies were in the back of the truck in the area between Michoacán and Guerrero ; two states besieged by drug cartels and crime.

Along with the human remains, authorities found a message that warned about a turf war between criminal groups in Michoacán , in the Tierra Caliente area.

According to investigations, the crime took place in Guerrero but criminals left the bodies in Michoacán .

Moreover, the truck had been reported as stolen in Mexico City in 2019.

Local authorities, in collaboration with the army and the National Guard , will reinforce security measures in the area.

The victims haven’t been identified.

Both Michoacán and Guerrero are violent states. Several cartels are disputing control and as a result, vigilante groups have armed themselves against the criminals.
