Femsa agrees to pay $8,790 million in taxes to Mexico 

Conglomerate Femsa agreed to pay MXN 8,790 million in taxes to the Tax Administration Service ( SAT ). The agreement was reached to avoid legal action.

In a brief statement, Femsa announced the payment will be made during the second trimester of 2020.

Just last week, Walmart de Mexico announced it would pay MXN 8,079 million in taxes after it sold Vips to Alsea in 2014.

Months ago, President López Obrador said 15 major companies owed millions in taxes but didn’t reveal the name of the companies.
