Electronic professional warrants will be mandatory in Mexico

The use and release of electronic professional warrants will be mandatory in every Mexican university as of October 1 . This new form of emission will allow professionals to access their professional warrants through their phones so that they are able to validate it through a QR code .

To date, 260 professional warrants have been emitted in this format.

Professional warrants will become available through this website . Users may access their warrants by simply searching, selecting, signing a request, paying, and downloading the document, which shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes .

will also be made available through banks within 48 hours of confirmation.

The documents needed to request professional warrants online will be a valid code of population registry (CURP) , an electronic signature from the Tax Administration Service (SAT) , and an online payment certificate , for which an e-mail address will be required, as well as a credit or debit card number . Upon filling the request, the professional warrant will be downloaded automatically as a PDF file .

“It’s very easy to obtain. Users may access the service through their phone, computer, and most devices with internet access,” explained Yolanda Martínez Mancilla, coordinator of the National Digital Strategy of the Presidency at a press conference.

The object of the electronic professional warrant is to help professionals obtain the document without having to wait six months to obtain it. In order to access the electronic document, the University must first issue the warrant, validating the completion of the graduate’s studies and uploading the information to a database at the Ministry of Education (SEP) ’s Directorate General of Professionals database .
