EL UNIVERSAL did report the purchase of the presidential plane in 2012

Yesterday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that no newspaper reported the purchase of the luxurious presidential airplane during the Felipe Calderón administration, which is on sale now. During his daily news conference, the President said “They buy the plane, use the plain, newspapers don’t say anything. Go to a library and see if you find anything about that and give it to me, we’ll see if EL UNIVERSAL published something about the purchase of the plane, a picture or something. Well, it turns out this newspaper did publish a story on July 30, 2012, on its cover, where the details and the high price were detailed. The article is full of details, such as the alterations that would be done to the plane, the installation of a security system, and that it would be financed by Banobras. This newspaper also mentioned that it would be ready by 2015 and that the Boeing 787 was unique and that the Mexican government would be the first to use it.

Olga Sánchez has to watch her back

Feuds at the President’s cabinet won’t stop and now they are reaching the Interior Ministry. Those who are against Interior Minister Olga Sánchez Cordero are asking what is the retired Supreme Court minister doing in regard to the migrant caravan? We’ve been told that Olga Sánchez warned about the arrival of hundreds of Central American migrants days ago and that she is working in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry and the National Guard. She has also met with governors, U.S. Attorney General William Barr, and Javier Sicilia. According to her team, the Interior Minister fulfills all her tasks. In recent days, besides being quite busy, Olga Sánchez also has to watch her back.

A rough day for the Health Minister

Health Minister Jorge Alcocer will have a busy day today when the parents of children with cancer who are being treated at the “Federico Gómez” hospital protest against the lack of medicines and treatments for their children. We’ve been told the medicine missing is vincristine, which has delayed the chemotherapy for several children. Therefore, the parents will protest because, despite their tolerance and willingness to dialogue, there is no solution. The protesters plan to head to the Health Ministry, the Senate and might block the Airport.

A PRI member at the National Palace

It’s not common to see opposition leaders at the National Palace, but René Juárez Cisneros, PRI, was seen near the Finance Ministry. It seems like the PRI member is working on a proposal to boost Nacional Financiera and to create more credits to spark development.
