President Enrique Peña Nieto

and president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador will hold a meeting this afternoon ( 18:00 hours ) at Mexico’s National Palace to begin working on the organization for the government transition.

The president-elect’s transition team released a statement specifying that the meeting is meant to address the subject of the change of administration.

For their part, the Republic’s Presidency confirmed the meeting between both politicians, pointing out that the meeting was meant to “resume the dialogue for the arrangement of an organized transition.”

This will be the second meeting to be held between President Enrique Peña Nieto and Andrés Manuel López Obrador after the elections of July 1 . The first was held on July 3 with aims to implementing an organized transition.

Yesterday

, the Electoral Tribunal of Justice of the Mexican Federation (TEPJF) validated López Obrador’s victory, officially commencing Mexico’s government transition.
