Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will travel today to Sinaloa to visit the soldiers who remain in hospital after surviving an ambush orchestrated by an armed group on September 30.
The president is expected to visit Wednesday afternoon the New Military Hospital in Sinaloa.
In a statement, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the five soldiers killed in the line of duty and wished a quick recovery to the ten soldiers wounded during the attack.
At a press conference, military commander Gen. Alfonso Duarte Mujía, said the attack against the army convoy is linked to a series of violent acts occurred in Badiraguato, where cartels are fighting a battle to control drug crops.
