Federal police seized 3.9 tons of marijuana in Sonora, which were stashed in a hidden compartment of a vehicle allegedly owned by a circus company.
In a statement, the National Security Commission explained that the seizure occurred on Altar-Sonoyta highway, heading towards San Luisito, Sonora.
Agents of the Federal Police (PF) conducted a routine inspection in a trailer truck owned by an entertainment company and during the review of the vehicle, the PF found a metal compartment where they smelled an odor of marijuana.
389 packages containing marijuana, wrapped with aluminum foil and plastic, were found.
According to the reports, the vehicle was traveling to Tijuana, Baja California.
The driver and a passenger as well as truck were transferred to the Federal Public Ministry to conduct the corresponding investigations.
