Tornado in Acuña, Coahuila, kills at least 13 people

The strong tornado that hit Ciudad Acuña for six seconds killed at least 13 people and left several people missing, Mayor Evaristo Lenin Pérez Rivera said.

The Cat. 4 tornado, that lasted six seconds, also damaged around 750 houses, 80 of which are completely destroyed, and 50 cars.

Emergency services continue searching for victims under the debris and eight temporary shelters were opened to help the people who lost their houses.

Around 80 people were being treated for injuries at local hospitals, according to preliminary figures.
