The Feathered Serpent tunnel ( túnel de la Serpiente Emplumada ), one of the most relevant discoveries in the last years, can be visited through virtual reality in the Teotihuacan Hall in the National Anthropology Museum ( MNA ) and in the Site Museum of the Archeological Zone ( Museo de Sitio de la Zona Arqueológica ).

The project was presented on July 25th, at the National Anthropology Museum , and it will allow visitors to get to know this space related to the Teotihuacan underworld .

The tunnel is about 120 meters long and is placed under the Quetzalcóatl Temple , was found in 2003 and in the last years, archeologists from the INAH have found over 100,000 objects in that archeological site . The public can transport themselves to the tunnel through Samsung's Gear VR , which is already available in the Chapultepec Museum and in the Teotihuacán site.

During this virtual tour that lasts a few minutes, the public will have the opportunity to see a representative selection of those vestiges , said Sergio Gómez, archeologist and director of the excavation site .“We show the most representative selection, but I think people will have an experience, a good approach to what was the excavation and the discoveries”, he said during the presentation.

The public will be able to experience this special space, where, according to the archeologist, rituals linked to the change of power took place .

He pointed out that the project is part of the Digital Agenda developed by the Culture Secretariat.

The development of the interactive projec t was done by Monster Grupo Creativo and Negras Network.

Also, the INAH's archeologist revealed that they have the possibility to exhibit a wide selection of pieces excavated from the site soon, in an enriched version of the exhibition " Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire" , that is currently displayed at the LACMA in Los Ángeles.
