Russia to have a taste of Mexico

At the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, there will be a pavilion for the promotion of Mexican culture and cuisine

The 2018 Soccer World Cup began in Russia, where 32 nations have gathered at the most important sporting event on the planet. Among the many activities offered during the event is the "Una Probadita de México" cultural pavilion, a traveling exhibition dedicated to promoting Mexican culture and cuisine.

According to the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM), the Russia 2018 World Cup, to be held from June 14 to July 15, is an opportunity to share a sample of the cultural, gastronomic, and artistic richness of Mexico with the rest of the world.

"Una Probadita de México" is an initiative for the promotion of Mexican culture during the famous celebration, aimed at fans who will visit the Russian capital during this sporting event.

In a statement, it was said that, on this occasion, the Mexican pavilion will be located a few steps from the Kremlin and the Red Square, inside the Gostiny Dvor shopping center, in the city of Moscow, from June 15 to July 3.

A display of the Day of the Dead and Huichol art will be mounted inside the enclosure; and the renowned Mexican cuisine will delight the palates of the attendees in the fonda, canteen and dining room that will also be installed inside the venue.

There will also be a stage that will feature a high definition screen in which the World Cup matches will be screened, as well as concerts by renowned Mexican artists and traditional representations such as the Calaveras Carnival.

The inauguration of "Una Probadita de México" will have the presence of local and Mexican authorities who will give the "banderazo" of departure where a daily entrance of two to four thousand attendees was estimated.

The CPTM recalled that Mexico went from the fifteenth most visited destination in 2013 to the sixth in 2017, which represented a growth of more than 62 percent during this period.

Finally, the agency said that the second half of the gastronomic party will take place in Mexico from October 26 to November 20, with the best Russian chefs and a Gala Dinner in the Palace of Fine Arts within the framework of the Kandinsky exhibition.
