The Jack Ma Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation donated 50,000 COVID-19 test kits, 100,000 masks, and five ventilators to Mexico

Mexico recently declared a health emergency after an increase in COVID-19 cases and deaths. 

China’s Cultural Center in Mexico announced the donations arrived in Mexico on March 31. The Foreign Ministry, the Health Ministry, and the customs office were present when the suppliers arrived in Mexico City’s airport.

Health Minister Jorge Alcocer decided the donations will be used by the recently created INSABI.

The chief of the donations coordination under the Human Rights and Democracy Department from Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said Mexico and China have a strategic relationship. 

“At this moment, when the COVID-19 epidemic spreads throughout the world, Chinese companies have generously donated some supplied to Mexico, a gesture that has been recognized by the Mexican Community,” said China’s Cultural Center in Mexico.
