Artist Cosimo Cavallaro is building a wall in the Mexico-U.S. border using cheese blocks.

Cavallaro explained the inspiration behind his cheese wall: “I don’t like walls. So this is a wall that I can handle, this is a wall I can live with, because this wall is a perishable, it will not last. The cheese is spoiled. It just means that for the regulations it’s not to be consumed.”

According to Artnet, the artist wants to explain how absurd is it to build a wall and spent millions on it, although the cheese wall is a motivational message.

Cosimo Cavallaro is asking for donations to complete the wall through a GoFundMe campaign.

This is not the last time the artist has used food to create an art installation, previously, he made a full-size sculpture of Jesus using chocolate and covered rooms using mozzarella and ketchup.
