Carlos Slim Foundation to donate MXN $1 billion for Mexico's fight against COVID-19

The Carlos Slim Foundation said it would donate MXN $1 billion to various public efforts to combat the coronavirus , including helping to provide medical equipment such as ventilators.

In terms of health , the resources will be destined to patient support equipment in national health institutes, ventilators, sonograms, and video-laryngoscopes.

In a statement, the organization said that it will also the resources will also focus on equipment to protect health staff , supplies for sanitizing and disinfecting critical spaces in public hospitals , as well as supporting the strengthening of the diagnosis power of the country and hospitals reconversion .

Likewise, the Carlos Slim Foundation will also support the Public Education Ministry (SEP) with the PruebaT platform for basic education students.

Regarding the protocols for its clients and employees, Grupo Carso has general measures for the prevention and promotion of hygienic practices in different spaces, both in the company and at home.

For people who are older than 55 years old , with chronic diseases , and pregnant women , they will be given special risk protection.

Those employees with respiratory infection symptoms and those diagnosed with COVID-19 , or who have had contact with confirmed coronavirus cases, will be isolated at their homes.

There will also be hygiene policies at employee dining rooms as well as policies to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in the companies such as frequently cleaning workspaces , remote working , and the cancelation of travels, meetings, and events.
