AT&T
has submitted before the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) the acceptance of the conditions imposed by the Institute for its merger with Time Warner .
“We're fully committed to these obligations,” said Kelly King, CEO of AT&T Mexico.
Among the conditions set was the separation of Sky Mexico on the channel supply for pay-TV from TW and At&T at a council and staff level, as well as the separation of HBO LAG from TW's operations in channel supply.
“We're still pending the approval of the U.S. Justice Department and the regulating organization from Brazil,” detailed King during the 2017 National Convention of National Chamber of the Electronic Industry, Telecommunications and Technology.
Regarding the interconnection tariff to be paid to Telcel, the CEO said he trusts the process.
Moreover, King further mentioned the decision whether At&T will participate in the bidding of the 2.5-GHz band hasn't been made yet. Regardless, he assured the company will continue investing in Mexico because there is a long-term commitment and in 2018 they will analyze the framework and announce the investment amount.
