El Camaleón Golf Club has already set up its facilities in the Riviera Maya to receive 132 athletes

This year, seven Mexican players will participate at the 12th edition of the Mayakoba Golf Classic tournament 2018 in the Mayan Riviera from November 8 to 11.

At a press conference, it was announced that there would be more than 7 million dollars in prizes and the champion would obtain a direct pass to the 2019 Masters Tournament.

El Camaleón Golf Club has already set up its facilities in the Mayan Riviera to receive 132 athletes from all over the world.

Out of the seven "Aztec" golfers, four will enter the competition directly through their PGA Tour card, and one more will enter through a special invitation.

The remaining two must win their place in an exclusive qualification tournament for national players, which will be held at the end of the month in the state of Quintana Roo.

Abraham Ancer, Jose de Jesus Rodriguez, Carlos Ortiz and Roberto Diaz will be the four golfers to enter with the PGA Tour card, while Oscar Frausto will be the special guest.

American champions Patton Kizzire and Rickie Fowler are confirmed to compete in the 2018 edition.

Just like last year, the Mayakoba Golf Classic will have a three-pillar structure, with programs called "golf is helping," "golf is family," and "golf is gourmet," destined to promote this sport and collaborate and help the community of Playa del Carmen.

The tournament has donated just over 2.5 million dollars to philanthropic causes, which have positively impacted the neediest communities of Playa del Carmen and Cancun, hence its success and popularity among local citizens.
