Michoacán Police, along with agents of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), seized an arsenal, tactical equipment and a vehicle belonging to an organized crime group in the municipality of Parácuaro, state authorities reported.
According to initial reports, the state and federal forces arrested four suspects during the operation in the Tierra Caliente zone.
Sedena said that during a surveillance patrolling in Las Crucitas, the police agents and soldiers spotted four people aboard a black Mazda, when noticing the presence of the authorities they tried to flee, resulting in a manhunt for several minutes until their capture.
A vehicle with plates of the State of Mexico, three AR-15 assault rifles with 21 magazines, 338 rounds of ammunition, a 40mm grenade launcher attachment, a .40mm Granada, a long gun AK-47 with five magazines and 92 rounds of ammunition, and a .38 caliber pistol were seized in the place.
Also, bullet-proof vests, two pairs of tactical boots, three communication devices, three portfolios, a set of keys and official identifications were seized.
The detainees, weapons, and vehicle were made available to the authorities to start the corresponding investigation.
