Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico, Guy Lamothe, is urging Mexicans to help his home country after the devastation caused by Hurricane Mathew.
In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL, Guy Lamothe stressed that Mexicans can help by providing medication and financial donations.
“We need medication and economical help, as well as clothing and water. It's faster and more efficient for us to buy these products directly in Haiti instead of sending them from Mexico,” he said in the interview.
Hurricane Matthew roared across the south-western coast of Haiti on October 3 and 4, and Guy Lamothe fears that those displaced might migrate towards the center of the country, which is barely recovering from the devastation caused by the 2010 earthquake.
Guy Lamothe said that any Mexican who wants to make a donation can do so by making a direct deposit to the Haitian Embassy at any Scotiabank branch in Mexico (cuenta: 00103982576 clabe interbancaria: 044180001039825762, a nombre de Embajada de Haití).
