Leader of Pacific cartel arrested in Chetumal

 The regional leader of the Pacific Cartel in Quintana Roo, Dilver Fidel Soto Alvarenga, also known as "El Gordo" or "El Gallero" was arrested yesterday in the city of Chetumal during a security deployment.

The arrest of Soto Alvarenga was made by the agents of the Assistant Attorney General's Office for Special Investigations on Organized Crime (SEIDO) with the support of the Federal Police.

The suspect was in charge of the drug trafficking operations on the Mexico-Belize border.

Soto Alvarenga was taken to Cancun by agents of SEIDO, Federal Forces, Mexican Army and Navy and then sent to Mexico City to initiate the corresponding legal process.
