Boxer Misael Rodríguez wins bronze at Rio 2016

 Mexican boxer Misael “El Chino” Rodríguez won the bronze medal after falling against Uzbek Bektemir Melikuziev in the Middleweight semifinals (75kg) in Rio.

Melikuziev won in a unanimous-decision over the Mexican from the northern state of Chihuahua.

This is Mexico's first medal at Rio Olympics 2016.

Last year, “El Chino” Rodríguez had to beg for money on the streets and busses of Mexico City to finance his trip to the Olympic qualifiers in Qatar due to the lack of financial support from the National Sports Commission (Conade).
