Mexico falls, in flames to a smoldering wreckage, before Chile

Mexico seemed poised to the finals, now the Mexican national team is reeling from a wounding 7-0 defeat at the hands of the Chilean squad, and their elimination from the Copa America.

The Levi's Stadium, the second home for the Mexican squad, turned into their grave. Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas scored four times against the Mexican team, sealing its coffin.

This has turned out to be the worst defeat for the Mexicans since they were defeated by a score of 6-0 by West Germany in the World Cup of 1978.

Coach Juan Carlos Osorio had a record of 9-0-1 before the game. Now, perhaps his position is now under heavy scrutiny after this defeat of historical proportions.
