Mexican independent governor denounced for criticizing pregnant girls

The members of the left-wing Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD) in the lower chamber of the Mexican Congress denounced the governor of Nuevo León, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón (El Bronco) for saying that "nobody wants fat girls."

While presenting the denounce before the National Council for the Prevention and Erradication of Discrimination (Conapred), the president of the Children Commission of the Chamber of Representatives, Jesús Valencia, and PRD lawmaker Tania Arguijo, called "El Bronco" to issue a public apology for his discriminatory comments not only against children afflicted with obesity, but also pregnant teenagers.

Also, the members of the commission called Conapred to provide "El Bronco" and his cabinet with the proper training regarding discrimination, gender, and human rights.
