A boy died and four people were wounded in an explosion at a bakery shop in Tabasco, caused when two workers of a local tanker truck company refilled the tanks at the store without the necessary security measures.
The incident occurred this Saturday when the tanker loaded gas at the "Mercedes" bakery in the Las Gaviotas Norte neighborhood. The fire department and the Red Cross arrived to control the fire.
The two drivers of the truck tried to flee despite being wounded, but they were arrested by the state police and then placed under watch at a hospital.
The 13-year-old son of the owner of the bakery, identified as Raymundo Jiménez Córdoba, died during the explosion. His mother, María del Rosario Córdoba Rodríguez ended with minor burns, as well as other three people who were standing in the area.
According to the preliminary investigations the stationary tank in the store had no gauge and there was no way to know how much gas it contained.
