Carrier runs over pilgrims in Guanajuato

A car carrier crashed into a group of pilgrims from the State of Mexico on their way to San Juan de los Lagos, killing at least three of them and injuring ten more.

The accident happened at 6:50 hrs. on the Celaya-Querétaro highway, near Tenango el Nuevo.

The injured were taken to hospitals in Apaseo el Alto and Apaseo el Grande.

Many of the pilgrims were riding a bicycle.

The names of the pilgrims that were killed are Rosa María de la Luz Pérez, 27; Fernando Díaz Leal, 24 and Jesús Bernal.
