Popocatépetl volcano spews 44 exhalations and 17 explosions

According to the report of the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), the monitoring system of Popocatépetl volcano registered 44 low-intensity exhalations and 17 explosions in the last 24 hours.

46 minutes of low-amplitude harmonic tremor and one volcano-tectonic earthquake were also recorded.

Incandescence over the crater was observed at night.

At time of this report, continuous emissions of steam and gas heading to the southwest were observed.
