According to the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), the monitoring system of Popocatépetl volcano registered 42 low-intensity exhalations and one explosion during the last 24 hours.


Incandescence over the crater was observed at night.

A non-stop emission of steam and gas heading to the northwest was also registered.

This type of activity is included within the Volcanic Traffic Light Yellow Phase 2.
