The Mexican national Under-22 soccer team defeated Honduras in the finals of CONCACAF's pre-Olympic tournament.

Both teams had already earned their ticket to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, but the victory still had an enormous moral weight for the Mexican team.

The first score in the Rio Tinto stadium, in Utah, came 41 minutes into the game with an auto goal from Bryan Acosta, derived from a high ball that Pizarro and "Cubo" Torres were not able to control.

The second goal came on the 68 thanks to a long-distance kick from Victor Guzmán.

Thanks to this victory, the wards of "Potro" Gutiérrez kept their Olympic crown without scratches.

Now, the Mexican team is on the way to defend the gold medal obtained in London in 2012.
