March commemorating six years of ABC child center tragedy

The Ministry of Public Security of Mexico City (SSPDF) reported that relatives of the 49 children who died during the fire at the ABC daycare began a march from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo.

The demonstration is to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the ABC child center fire, occurred in Hermosillo, Sonora, on June 5, 2009.

On the day of the fire, an estimated 148 children and six adult caregivers were inside the building.

Ultimately, 49 children aged 3 or younger died during or following the blaze and more than 70 toddlers were injured.  At the moment, no one is arrested.
