Teachers call to repeal education reforms

Members of the teachers' union National Coordination of Education Workers ( CNTE ) gathered today at the National Auditorium in Mexico City to protest against the education reforms .

Given that in Mexico, May the 15th is Teacher's Day, hundreds of teachers, mainly from the states of Oaxaca, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, and Hidalgo, marched in protest along Paseo de la Reforma toward the Ministry of the Interior demanding the reinstatement of their negotiation table.

Said table had the objective of appealing the education reforms, which some members of the union qualified as an attempt to "privatize" education in Mexico.

Similar protests have also been registered in the states of Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero.
