During the Nights of Legends and Laments , La Llorona and other folktale characters will guide you through the alcoves of the Autonomy Palace in downtown Mexico City to share legends from both Mexico and abroad.
Within the historic building, you will meet Don Juan Manuel , a man who became crazed with jealousy when discovering that his wife was cheating on him, thus becoming the first serial killer in New Spain .
You will also hear the myth of the Cempasúchil flower , a compelling story about Xóchitl and Huitzilin , two Aztec youngsters who swore their undying love before the eyes of Tonatiuh, the sun god.
The tour will also feature a Werewolf who will tell the horrific story of Vlad Tepes , also known as Vlad the Impaler , prince of Wallachia and the main inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula .
The event will be held October 31 through November 4 , between 18:30 and 20:30 hours , with a cost of 250 pesos for adults and 230 for children, students, and teachers, as well as UNAM and INAPAM affiliates . The funds raised will be donated to the UNAM foundation to grant scholarships for students of academic excellence.
Visitors may purchase the tickets directly at the ticket booth of the Autonomy Palace or through PromoCity Tours' official website .
