Mexico’s state oil company has reported a total of 92 COVID-19 cases among its workers, as well as 1,052 suspected cases and 10 deaths .

These figures represent an increase of 9 confirmed cases, 62 suspected cases, and three deaths compared to the previous day.

added that, in accordance to the health measures issued by the federal government until May 30, 2020 , the oil company “could begin operations once again in a timely manner in those municipalities determined by authorities, taking into account the evolution of the pandemic , the operative feasibility, and all those additional actions that would be required.”

Likewise, Pemex explained that it has done 360 coronavirus tests , which allowed to confirm 92 cases so far.

Reports add that 17 people have recovered from the new coronavirus, while 33 are isolated at their homes, 18 are hospitalized in an isolated hospital ward, and 14 are in the intensive care unit .

Pemex mourned the decease of the victims of the new disease and asserted that it will continue implementing a comprehensive prevention model through its Health Services to minimize the spread of COVID-19 among its community.

It mentioned that among the preventive measures it has implemented are the use of thermal cameras so as to administer infection risks within its facilities; the control of the transportation and feeding of staff in its sea platforms as well as air transportation; the sanitizing of cargo vessels and helicopters used for its operations, in addition to the operation of technological equipment that ensures the health of the personnel on sea facilities.

Likewise, it added that, through these protocols , it is performing an orderly and systematic response in the management of suspected and confirmed coronavirus cases that are detected by the Pemex Medical Service , both in control points located at the rooms for the transportation of personnel by sea, air, and land, as well as in housing areas and administrative centers.

Mexico’s state oil company stressed that it is following the recommendations from the Health Ministry for the mitigation of SARS-CoV2 .
