The PAN gets ready to face Morena in Puebla

Things are so rough in Puebla that the PAN considered the possibility of not having a candidate to the Puebla election in the face of the lack of conditions for a fair election against Morena. We've been told that on Monday, after a debate in the Permanent Commission, it was agreed that there would be a candidate and that they could be appointed this week. There are 8 possible contenders, Jorge Aguilar Chedraui, Luis Ernesto Derbez, Mario Riestra, Francisco Fraile, Inés Saturnino, Blanca Jiménez, Ana Teresa Aranda, and Guillermo Velázquez. The pre-campaigns will start soon and the PAN has to decide who will be the chosen one to face Morena soon. Although there is a clash between Morena's president, Yeidckol Polevnsky and Ricardo Monreal, as she supports Miguel Barbosa and he supports Alejandro Armenta.

Mexico to cooperate more with the UN

Doctor Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Mexico's ambassador before the UN and the National Defense Minister, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, visited the Joint Training Centre for Peacekeeping Operations in Mexico. We've been told that there's an interest to increase Mexico's collaboration with the UN in several training programs, especially in regards to the protection of human rights. Towards the end of 2019, the center might expand its facilities and offer more courses and programs and will be certified as a UN Collaboration Center in peacekeeping programs. Congratulations!

An urgent meeting between Cordero, Urzúa, and Moctezuma

The education budget has turned into a headache for the authorities. Although some Governors have complained that the resources aren't enough and have to get in debt to pay the teachers' payrolls. The most recent episode is Michoacán, which has dramatic consequences for the local and national economy, where the CNTE teachers clocked the railroad tracks for three weeks. Nevertheless, the Interior Ministry hasn't ignored the situation and the Interior Minister, Olga Sánchez Cordero, met with the Finance Minister, Carlos Urzúa, and the Education Minister, Esteban Moctezuma, in order to analyze the education budget allocated to the states. They are looking to solve a problem that could worsen.

Pérez Dayán, Zacatecas' hero

We've been told that some people in the Zacatecas government would like to make a bronze statue of the Supreme Court minister, Alberto Pérez Dayán but not because he was born in this state, he's actually from Mexico City, but because he saved the state's most important income source: the ecology tax. Pérez Dayán asked to and achieved the deletion of a paragraph in a bill that left the most polluting industries out of the tax: chemical, oil, petrochemistry, asbestos, and cement industries. He saved millions for Zacatecas.
