With the goal of “Chucky” Lozano, Mexico wins 1 – 0 against Germany

With the goal of Hirving "Chucky" Lozano in the first half and a sturdy defense in the second, Mexico wins its first World Cup match against Germany, the defending World Champion.

Despite some missed opportunities during the first half, Mexico kept its fast offensive until minute 35, when Javier Hernández got the ball in the middle of the field and passed it to the left, creating an opportunity for Hirving Lozano to score the only goal of the game.

After halftime, Germany pressed to take control, substituting Sami Khedira with Marco Reus (60') and Plattenhardt with striker Mario Gomez (80') yet Mexico's defense and goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa kept the Germans from evening the score.

After 3 minutes of stoppage time, Mexico, who hasn't lost its first match in a World Cup since 1998, celebrated their first victory in Russia.
