Companies engaged in the now legal production and sale of market medicines, cosmetics, food, and other products derived from marijuana will form a Chamber of the Cannabis Industry in Mexico , in order to guarantee the free entry of these items to the country.

They indicated that the order issued by the Ministry of Economy regarding cannabis import tariffs would not affect their products, because imports will continue to flow.

At a press conference, Raúl Elizondo, director of Hempsmeds in Mexico and Latin America

, stressed that "the scope of the trade does not apply to our products."

He mentioned that future investors and patient relatives expressed some concern, since the tariff measures involve cannabis, but they are not applicable to cannabidiol and hemp, which are used in these products.

Meanwhile, Janko Ruiz de Chavez, operations manager of CBD Life , said that, though there had been confusion regarding the order issued by the Ministry of Economy, producers would stay united to keep the population informed.

César Vargas, sales manager of Farmacias Magistrales

, stressed that the products with cannabidiol and less than one percent of THC will not displace the traditional allopathic drugs, since they will complementary.

The drugs with cannabidiol are useful for the treatment of pain and inflammation in patients with cancer, multiple sclerosis, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) , and other diseases.
