Bad news for Murillo Karam
Now that his name was mentioned for his link to the Ayotzinapa case , we've been told that the former Attorney General, Jesús Murillo Karam has been dealing with health issues for some time. We've been told that Karam was forced to leave the political arena to focus on his personal life but he's now under the spotlight after the statement made by H uman Rights Minister Alejandro Encinas. After 24 people who were accused of the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students were freed, Encinas revealed that Murillo Karam and other former officials will be investigated. We've been told that another former official from the Attorney General's Office will also be investigated for the mess they made.
López Obrador has a plan for Santa Lucía
A few days ago, president López Obrador revealed his secret strategy to continue with the construction of the Santa Lucía airport : name the project as a national security facility , as EL UNIVERSAL revealed last week. Those who have filed motions to halt the construction of the airport are shocked that the National Security Council turned the airport in a strategic project in less than 24 hours, without fulfilling all the paperwork . They were even more shocked after the Sedena's lawyer, general Miguel Carrasco Hernández , argued that canceling the construction of the Santa Lucía airport would be a threat against national security. With these arguments, judge Juan Carlos Guzmán Rosas will decide if he revokes or maintains the definitive suspension. We will see if the president's plan works...
The opposition fights back
We've been told that this week, two opposition parties are planning to attack the federal government and the agreements it has reached with the CNTE . The PRI and PRD will look to disqualify the agreements allegedly reached by president López Obrador and the teachers union. Last week, the PRI 's leader, Alejandro Moreno, announced it might be possible that the party would issue about “the c ampaign promises made by the 4 T a nd now it can't fulfill them.” Yesterday, the PRD announced that it'll also issue a statement. We'll see what can these two parties in danger of extinction can do.
Cannabis bill will be discussed soon
The Senate president , Mónica Fernández from Morena , said that the Supreme Court reminded them that the Congress is required to legislate in regards to the recreational use of cannabis, racial discrimination, every day justice, and modify the remunerations law for public servants , therefore, she requested the necessary bills to fulfill the legal resolutions and not disobey the court. Fernández explained that in regards to the recreational use of cannabis , the term ends on October 24; the remunerations law has to be discussed before December 15, while racial discrimination should be discussed before July 3, 2020, as well as everyday justice .
