Authorities seize a large arsenal and cocaine in Mexico City

Officials from the Attorney General’s Office ( FGR ) and the National Guard found and seized a weapon arsenal and drugs in Lindavista , an upper-class neighborhood in northern Mexico City .

Security forces

found over 100 weapons and cartridges , including 9 Barrett M82, five grenades , 30 anti-aircraft machine guns , AK-47 rifles , and thousands of cartridges; they allegedly belong to the Sinaloa Cartel , the most powerful Mexican drug cartel . Authorities also found 50 packages containing cocaine .

The Barret M82 perforates armored tanks and were the same weapons used by the Sinaloa Cartel in Culiacán on October 17, 2019, when Ovidio Guzmán was arrested by Mexican authorities.

The operation lasted around 25 hours at the home that belonged to Francisco Javier Hernández , aka “Pancho Cayagua,” the founder of La Unión Tepito Cartel , a local criminal organization that has wreaked havoc in Mexico City.

According to sources, the arsenal and drugs might belong to the Sinaloa Cartel , the drug cartel that supplies La Unión Tepito with drugs.

On February 26, th e Attorney General’s Office ( FGR ) was able to officially prosecute Ana Rosa “M , ” who was arrested after authorities raided a home in Mexico City. The woman was in possession of a large arsenal.

A judge bound the women over for trial on two charges: crimes against health and stockpiling weapons meant for military use .
