authorities revealed that all the rides at amusement park La Feria de Chapultepec lack maintenance, not only “ Quimera ,” the ride where two people died on September 28.

Therefore, the investigations might include local authorities since they didn't verify the state of the rides in the park, nevertheless, authorities emphasized that the company is to blame for the accidents .

When local authorities examined the Chapultepec Fair , they found that the rides in the park did not receive maintenance work and that the park's civil protection program was designed for common areas, not for the rides.

In regards to the September 28 accident , Myriam Urzúa Venegas explained that “in the case of the ride “ Quimera ,” it presented several omissions that meant the administration should have shut the ride down. The park administration is the one that has to review the everyday logs of each ride . I think the first omission is there.”

After experts examined the ride “ La Quimera ,” where two people died on September 28 , it was revealed that the ride operated under unsafe conditions as a result of the lack of maintenance.

According to the analysis , the day of the accident , the ride wasn't fit to be used by the public, nevertheless, the employees and administrations at La Feria decided to open “ La Quimera ” to the public; therefore, authorities will prosecute those responsible and charge them with homicide and injuries .

During a press conference, local authorities announced that some irregularities found in the ride include worn-out seat belts, oil leaks , cracks in the metal rails of the trucks, and cracks in the rail.

Also, besides broken screws and structural damages , the operation display had flaws that had been previously reported but were never fixed.

It was revealed that the lack of preventive and corrective maintenance caused the wagon to fall, which resulted in two dead and two people wounded.
