Most Mexicans have a negative opinion of the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump but they think Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto should meet him and defend the country's interests.
According to the survey by Buendía & Laredo/EL UNIVERSAL, 74 percent of Mexicans have a negative view of Trump and only 5 percent have a positive opinion of him.
The poll also showed that 53 percent of Mexicans said Peña Nieto should meet Trump to defend the country's interests and 43 percent said the opposite due to Trump's racists comments against Mexicans.
52 percent of Mexicans said they have a positive view of Democratic Hillary Clinton and only 7 percent of those surveyed said they have a negative opinion.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador is compared to Hillary Clinton by 17 percent of Mexicans and to Donald Trump by the 23 percent.
15 percent of surveyed Mexicans compare Miguel Angel Osorio Chong to Hillary Clinton and 13 percent compare Chong to the U.S. mogul.
25 percent of those surveyed view former Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala as Mexico's own Hilary Clinton.
The poll was conducted between November 11 and 15 and 1,000 Mexicans were surveyed.
