Family, friends and neighbors of the victims claim for justice, 10 days after 19-year old Karen Esquivel and 52-year old Adriana Hernández were found dead inside some suitcases in “El Tejocote”, neighborhood in the State of Mexico.
Last Saturday, family and friends of Karen Esquivel protested outside the Attorney General’s Office and demanded justice to punish those responsible for the crime, while they claimed for an in-depth investigation that leaves scapegoats, such as a valet parking lot attendant, outside any questioning.
A demonstration took place earlier today, where neighbors of the victims dressed in white, gathered around the Grand Terrace roundabout in Lomas Verdes, State of Mexico, to demand safety and justice in this double feminicide cases, with slogans and signs which read “Not one more woman killed!”, “Not one more kidnapping!”
Both kidnappings were reported separately, without any apparent connection at the time, the Attorney’s General Office of the State of Mexico revealed that, though the victims showed no signs of sexual aggression, Karen Esquivel’s cause of dead was suffocation, while Adriana Hernández died due to head trauma.
The white van, in which the victims were allegedly kidnapped, was found last September 30 and the Attorney General of the State of Mexico is confident that the arrest of the perpetrators will take place shortly.
