Guard steals more than half a million in Guadalajara

An armored car guard stole more than US$530,000 from the vehicle he was supposed to be watching, and seemingly disappeared, according to reports.

When the other guards from the security company Seguritec parked the vehicle and entered a business in order to retrieve cash for safekeeping, the suspect took the money already stashed in the car and supposedly escaped with the help of another person, who was waiting for him in a white car.

When the other guards returned and found what happened they requested the aid of the local police.

Experts from the Police Department of Guadalajara began an investigation and questioned possible witnesses of the incident, while forensic investigators checked the vehicle.

So far, there are no known clues on the alleged robber and his accomplice.
