Mexican actress Kate del Castillo hopes that the possible extradition of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán to the United States allows her to develop her movie biopic about the reputed drug lord.
After a Mexican federal judge decided that "El Chapo" can be extradited to the U.S., Del Castillo said that she hopes that she will be able to get greater access to the kingpin.
"The news today that 'El Chapo' could be extradited to the United States are good because it would allow my team to have a better access to him in order to come with a comprehensive and accurate picture of his incredible life and work," wrote Del Castillo in a statement sent to the Associated Press through her publicist.
Some experts think, on the other hand that the presence of "El Chapo" in an American prison could not be as good for her.
Del Castillo recently was the center of controversies because, after the arrest of Guzmán Loera in January a meeting between her, actor Sean Penn and "El Chapo" came to light. All at the time when he was one of the most wanted fugitives in the world.
