José Manuel Gutiérrez Canul, the driver of the Grand Cherokee truck which impacted former President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa's van in the state of Quintana Roo, said that the former head of state caused the crash.
"I ... put the blame on him," because his van did not stop at a red light, expressed Gutiérrez Canul in a video making the rounds on social networks.
He added that Calderón Hinojosa was under the protection of armed personnel and he was allowed to leave the place while they pointed their guns at him.
Gutiérrez Canul also said that he is in pain after the incident and was totally ignored by Calderón Hinojosa and former mayor Trinidad García Arguelles.
