A federal court confirmed that the Office of the Attorney General (PGR) ordered the detention of actress Kate del Castillo in order to have her declare in the inquiry over her supposed links with drug dealer Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
The First Court in Criminal Matters of Mexico City issued the order under the argument that an appeal presented by the actress is no longer valid since she is called as a witness and not as a suspect.
Del Castillo apparently had a controversial relation with "El Chapo" and was able to arrange an interview between him and American actor Sean Penn, and a meeting in a secluded area of the mountains in Mexico three months before the arrest of the reputed criminal on January 8.
