The number of people killed in last Wednesday's explosion at the petrochemical plant of Pajaritos, in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, has risen to 27 after the rescue teams entered areas that were still extremely hot after the incident.
In the meantime, the relatives of those who are still missing are arriving at the factory where forensic teams are still working on the identification of the victims.
The survivors continue to receive specialized medical care in the area and some have been transferred to Guadalajara and Mexico City because of the massive burns they received.
According to reports, eight workers are currently at the Hospital of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Coatzacoalcos, and four more are at the Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) clinic in the same city.
There is another victim in a Pemex hospital in Minatitlán while others are in IMSS clinics in Villahermosa, Veracruz, Guadalajara and Mexico City.
