Comedian María Antonieta de las Nieves, "La Chilindrina," spoke against the accusations made by Florinda Meza against deceased actor Ramón Valdés, who according to her had a drug problem.
Ramón Valdés played "Don Ramón" in the show which had De las Nieves as his daughter and Meza, who is the widow of producer and star Roberto Gómez Bolaños, as his constant antagonist "Doña Florinda".
"I don't really feel like talking, but those things about Ramón are not true. It hurts me a lot and God willing (his children will sue Meza)..." expressed De las Nieves, who was in Mexico City for actor Ignacio Lopez Tarso's new play, "Un Picasso".
Her husband, Gabriel Fernández asked the press to "stop talking about that witch, please", and then said that Meza is just "a lying old woman," while his wife tried to calm him because he was getting mad.
"They are trying to do something nasty, trying to erase such a beautiful, endearing image," he added.
Recently, the children of Valdés have threatened to sue Meza and accused her of trying to take control of the production of the legendary TV show, which caused the actor to leave it.
"I don't know if it's the better alternative to suing her or not because that's a very tiresome process. If they have a lot of money they should give it a go, but if they don't it would be better that they don't do it," De las Nieves said.
De las Nieves also announced the end of her famous character.
"I'm leaving. It's the end of 'La Chilindrina.' Just imagine what it means for the whole of Latin America. It's certainly a hard blow, real news," she said half joking.
She added that the end of her character will be marked in a celebratory act, with a lot of guests, but provided no details.
