Mexican soccer team Atlas welcomed its new coach, Argentinean Gustavo Adolfo Costas Makeira, who will be in charge of the squad for the Apertura and Clausura 2016 tournaments.

Costas was born in Buenos Aires on February 28 February, 1963, and he debuted as a player in 1981 with the Racing, as a central defender. He retired in 1997 with Gimnasia de Jujuy.

He has five championships won in four different leagues. He took the Alianza Lima to the 2003 and 2004 championships of Peru and then went to Paraguay, to take Cerro Porteño to win in 2005.

With Barcelona of Ecuador he got the championship in 2012 and took Independiente Santa Fe to the top of Colombian soccer in 2014.

He will be aided by Pablo Fernández (technical assistant), Fernando Amoroso (trainer) and Federico Costas (auxiliary trainer).
