Arrest warrant against wife of former mayor of Iguala

The Attorney General's Office (PGR) issued an arrest warrant against María de los Ángeles Pineda Villa on charges of organized crime and operations with illegal proceeds.

Pineda Villa is the wife of José Luis Abarca, former mayor of Iguala, both are linked to the disappearance of the 43 student teachers of Ayotzinapa, missing since September 26, 2014, and to the Guerreros Unidos Cartel.

Pineda Villa is being held in the women's prison CEFERESO Number 4, located in Tepic, Nayarit, subject to several criminal proceedings.
