The Attorney General of the Federal District (PGJDF) reported that family members identified the man who was found hanging from the bridge of La Concordia, Iztapalapa, last week.
In a press release, the man was identified as a 29-year-old from the state of Chiapas, who had been living in Mexico City for the last 18 years. His name has not been provided to protect his family, albeit his picture has been published.
"This response in solidarity shows that the joint work between media, citizens and authorities for the benefit of a better society is possible," expressed the PGJDF.
The agency also expressed that it will continue with the investigations on the case.
Last week, on Monday, the man's body was found hanging from the bridge in the morning. Early reports indicate that his death comes as a result for a fight for the control of drug trafficking at the Reclusorio Oriente jail.
Last Sunday, a man allegedly involved in the killing was arrested.
