Alfonso Herrera to star in U.S. series 'Urban Cowboy'

Mexican actor and singer Alfonso Herrera (Sense 8 and RBD) will be the lead actor in Fox's drama pilot Urban Cowboy, a TV adaptation of the 1980 Paramount movie starring John Travolta and Debra Winger, Deadline reported.

Herrera, 31, will play Kyle, a new version played by Travolta in the movie.

In the TV adaptation Kyle is Mexican. He is an extremely popular rodeo circuit rider who is a puppet for the drug cartel, forced to flee Mexico after ticking off the wrong people.
