Music show "Hoy no me puedo levantar (I can't get up today)" is on the way to ending its performances in the Aldama theater of Mexico City, with its end season going from July 18 to August 23, and leading lady Danna Paola doesn't feel like thinking about it.
“This play has been a fundamental part of my life as of late. So the day when the curtain closes its going to be really hard. That day I am leaving 'Hoy no me puedo levantar,' I'll take a plane and will go to Miami. I am leaving Mexico for six months," she said.
The young singer and actress will have to face a final challenge before the play ends its performances: She will perform the songs of legendary Spanish band Mecano, on which the play is based, in front of one of its founding members, singer Ana Torroja.
“It's super exciting and at the same time it makes me very nervous. It's gonna be a crucial day because Mecano's music has been a part of my life since forever," she said.
The play has a clear message about realizing your dreams, and Danna has a pretty clear view of hers.
"They say that if you don't dream you can't make things happen. If you work and you decide to do it you can make it because things are not going to come into your life as a gift. Mi dream is to win a Tony, an Oscar or a Grammy. That's the idea," she said.
And for that, her path is already chosen.
"If there's something that doesn't feel right, I will not do it because I know I will not enjoy it. There will be mistakes too, but we learn from them," expressed Danna.
